Daniel helps nearly 5,000 local abused, abandoned and neglected children, as well as at-risk families each year. The critical therapeutic and supportive care we offer is at low or no cost to our clients. Yet, the demand for our services continues to grow despite yearly decreases in government funding.

In 1884 the population of Jacksonville was just 10,000, yet even within that relatively small number; there were still a multitude of children in need of help. To that end, a group of church women launched the Orphanage and Home for the Friendless in a small, rented cottage on the corner of Liberty and Ashley Street with a fund launched to open a permanent home.

No matter what your skill set or how much time you have available, we’ll help you find a way to get involved to impact a child’s life while enriching your own. Whether you lend your talents to host a Back to School Drive at your company, collect much needed toiletries with a community organization or donate holiday toys with your family, Daniel needs and appreciates your support.

Daniel’s primary event to raise funds and awareness for Daniel kids is our annual Hank Haynes Golf Classic, which provides sponsorship opportunities with cause-related marketing benefits and media exposure while supporting Daniel and the abandoned, abused and neglected children we serveDaniel’s 1884 Giving Society Annual Celebration is an exclusive reception for our most dedicated donors, who, as members, give a minimum of $1,000 yearly in support of our work with children in crisis.
