Home
Daniel helps abused,
neglected, abandoned and emotionally-troubled children, ages five
to 17, connect with
caring, specially-trained foster care families. You too can add a little heart
to your home. Foster parents can be men or women, married or single. You choose
the type of child you help and for how long.
All you need is a
little training and a lot of love.
Daniel holds foster
parent training programs at several intervals throughout the year in
Jacksonville.
The
coursework includes subjects designed to equip parents with a knowledge and
understanding of the foster children daniel serves, as well as strategies to
help them thrive.
The following are
basic requirements to be a therapeutic foster
parent:
- Stable, nurturing home
environment.
- Stable financial
status (household income is sufficient to meet current expenses).
- Willing to be screened
for disqualifying law violations.
- Ownership of a
reliable means of transportation with proof of insurance.
- Completion of a
60-hour foster parent preparation course.
Foster parents who
complete the training requirements are paid a child support reimbursement at an
enhanced rate. Child care and insurance
is also provided. The emotional rewards you'll receive from helping a child in
need are immeasurable.
