Community Based Care (CBC)

The Community Based Care program provides foster care/adoption services to children who have been removed from their parents’ care due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. daniel’s CBC program provides supervision and support services to children and their families by providing in home supervision or placing children outside of the home until family problems are resolved (reunification) or children have been placed in permanent placements (relative care, group home, permanent guardianship, or adoption).

Highlights: Upon the privatization of the foster care system, daniel’s CBC program opened July 1, 2003. The program currently serves 700 children in foster care. To date, 94 children have been adopted into permanent families.

 

A new prevention program, Strengthening Ties and Empowering Parents (STEPS), has been developed to work with families toward stabilization by providing in-home intervention to prevent families from entering the foster care system. The program currently serves 60 families.
